WORKAID are pleased to offer a unique local service enabling people with mild/moderate learning disabilities to experience workshop activities at our local facilities in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.
Our recently created, purpose built community workshop THE WORKAID HUB’,encourages clients to take part in workshop activities such as sorting & cleaning tools,and sorting haberdashery and crafts. With the provision of a qualified co-coordinator to assist clients, the Hub will provide a supportive and engaging environment for people with a wide range of needs. |
'Better' news for disabled people as discounted leisure centre membership is launched in South Bucks and Chilterns.Disabled people living in South Bucks and Chiltern Districts can benefit from discounted access to their local sports and leisure facilities thanks to a new initiative launched this week by charitable social enterprise GLL.
The new Better Health and Fitness Inclusivemembership card was launched at the House of Commons on Wednesday 9th January 2012 byGiles Long MBE, Paralympic Gold Medallist and Broadcaster and means that disabled residents will be able to join Beacon and Evreham sport centres in South Bucks and Chesham, Chalfont, Chiltern Pools and Sprinters leisure centres in Chiltern for just £19.95, while their carers will be able to use the facilities for free. The new membership will also allow cardholders to use any other GLL-operated sports or leisure facility in the UK for no additional cost.
